Workshop Description and Expected Outcome:

 

This workshop provides basic instruction on the use of this fast-drying medium. Students will learn a variety of techniques such as colour mixing, brush work, knife work, blocking, and washes while creating landscape and abstract works. There will also be instruction provided on the use of different materials such as gel medium in conjunction with acrylic paint. There will be demonstrations of how to properly apply this paint to both pre-gessoed and raw canvas. Finally, students will be shown the useful practice of stretching one’s own canvas.

 

Cost of supplies additional:

Acrylic paint (10-tube kit produced by Windsor & Newton ~ $25)

Soft acrylic brushes (7 pk of soft brushes ~ $15)

Two 8x10 inch canvases or canvas boards (~ $10)

All of these materials are available for purchase at Michaels Art Supply Store or similar locations.

Beginner: Students are new to the art or craft being taught. No experience is required.

Intermediate: Students have a basic understanding of the art or craft being taught. Students have taken a class or workshop previously or have otherwise had hands on experience with the art or craft.

Advanced: Students have significant experience with the art or craft being taught. Students are comfortable and competent with the art or craft.
