Introduction to Fused Glass Class

Course Description and Expected Outcome:
Fused glass – an art form where pieces of different coloured glass are heated in a specialized oven until they melt together into a single solid glass piece.
This 7.5 hour course ( 3 – 2.5 hour sessions) will take you on an exploratory and fun journey into this fascinating glass art technique. You will learn basic glass cutting, layering, and kiln-forming techniques that will have you designing and creating your own unique glass art pieces. You will be working with specialized Bullseye fusing glass, stringers, frit, confetti and glass rods and beads.
Sound too technical – it is not – and you will marvel at the projects you will create.
No experience is necessary, and previous students are welcome to return and try more intricate or challenging projects.
With guided instruction you will leave with finished projects ready for display.
All tools needed are supplied.
Cost of glass additional. Fusing Glass can be purchased from the instructor. Cost of finished projects is based on the size and number of layers in the project. Typical costs are $0.55/square inch of glass resulting in a supply cost of $55-$60. Participants usually create two or three smaller projects or 1 or 2 larger projects in the class time provided.
Students may also provide their own glass.( if purchasing your own fusing glass make sure it is COE 90)
Registration Deadline: November 18, 2025
Student Registration: 5 minimum and 8 maximum
Beginner: Students are new to the art or craft being taught. No experience is required.
Intermediate: Students have a basic understanding of the art or craft being taught. Students have taken a class or workshop previously or have otherwise had hands on experience with the art or craft.
Advanced: Students have significant experience with the art or craft being taught. Students are comfortable and competent with the art or craft.
